MEET THE OWNERS: Captain H. ‘Bo’ Von Harten is a USCG licensed captain and 4th generation Beaufortonian. The Von Harten family has traditionally forged a living on the waters of Beaufort County for decades. He earned a B.S. in Marine Science and served as the Island Manager of Pritchards Island, a remote barrier island owned by USC, for over six years. Currently, he is actively involved with the Beaufort Sportfishing & Diving Club as the membership chair. Amber Von Harten, wife of Captain Von Harten, is an avid fisherman and environmental educator. She was raised in the Tidewater region of Virginia on the Chesapeake Bay. With a B.S. in Marine Science, she is also a Certified Master Naturalist with 8 years of professional experience as an interpreter. Working on Pritchards Island for 5 years, she served as the research coordinator for the Loggerhead Sea Turtle Conservation Project and provided educational field programs to island visitors. Conservation is also important to A & B Fishing & Eco-Tours and both owners actively participate in the SCDNR Marine Game Fish Tagging Program and encourage catch-and-release. The expertise of the owners will ensure that your fishing trip or eco-tour will be a true Lowcountry experience. |
